China Tightens Export Controls on Drones and Related Technologies for the U.S.

On August 5, Beijing announced new retaliatory measures against American companies and technologies amid another round of trade conflict with Washington.
China has implemented stricter export controls on drones and related technologies destined for the U.S., and has prohibited Chinese companies from collaborating with seven American firms. These measures are a response to new U.S. restrictions against Chinese tech companies.
Although the new measures do not directly involve rare earth metals, they indicate that Beijing is once again expanding export restrictions in strategic sectors. Against this backdrop, the risk of new restrictions specifically on critical minerals remains high.
The news pertains to the market: "Will China impose new export restrictions on rare earths against the U.S. or Japan by the end of 2026?"
