This market is about whether OpenAI will complete an initial public offering (IPO) by 11:59 PM ET on December 31, 2026. The market resolves to 'Yes' if OpenAI's shares become available to public investors on a recognized stock exchange as a result of an IPO. The market resolves to 'No' if public trading does not begin by the specified deadline. Resolution source: official announcements from OpenAI, SEC filings, exchange publications, and confirmation from major news agencies. Resolution details: confidential or public filing of documents with the SEC, selection of banks, announcement of price range, and commencement of a roadshow do not count by themselves. An actual IPO must occur, and public trading of shares must begin. Private placements, tokenization, sales of employee shares, mergers with public companies, SPAC transactions, or direct listings without an IPO do not count.
